FOOTBALL PARENT’S CLUB MEETING

September 5, 2007, 7:00 pm

The meeting was called to order by President, Brad Riley.   

WEEK #3 - PLAYERS OF THE WEEK:  “THE INVASION OF CARMEL”, teams were 3-0!  Varsity: 32-31, JV:  33-0, Freshmen: 13-7.

Offense: Jordan LuAllen (Mr. Daugherty)

Defense: Jon Rifkin (Mr. Milligan)

Special Teams:  Mike Wood  (Mrs. Bedan)

Scout Offense:   Sean Egenoff (Mrs. Paxson)

Scout Defense:  Blake Miller (Mr. Harrell)

Freshman Offense:  Bryce Krebs/Defense:   Brian Jansen

 

 Next game this Friday at home (Terre Haute North) @ 7:00pm.

COACH MOORE: 

Coach Moore thanked the Parent’s Club for their encouragement the week leading up to the Carmel game.  He made special note of the bells that were rung as the boys walked to the locker room!!    

Coach Moore was presented with a plaque, from the Parent’s Club, honoring his 100th game as Center Grove’s head coach.  Brad Riley also showed the group some photos that will be framed from the Carmel game that would be displayed in Coach Moore’s office.

Coach Moore was named “COACH OF THE WEEK” by Colt’s head coach, Tony Dungy.  You can see a blurb about this award on the Colts website, Colts.com.  Coach cleared up that he has a 71 & 29 record!!

MIDDLE SCHOOL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

This week, players from North & Central were honored:

TAILGATING:  This week, Piper’s Restaurant is supplying the main course of Chicken Kabobs! 

PRE-GAME MEAL:   We still need cookies for Friday (and next week)!   You can send in with your player and they can take directly to Deb Bellian in the Attendance Office. 

For next week, the varsity & freshman teams will be traveling to Terre Haute and on Friday, September 15, Cindy Adams needs 3 freshmen moms or dads to help pack up the 160 sack lunches that will be sent with the teams, and bring coolers.  Room 333 @ noon.  Please get in touch with Cindy if you can help.  adaco@insightbb.com. 

PIZZA MAILERS:  Getting stuffed at Cindy Adam’s home at 4pm on Sunday, September 9.    If you can help, stop by!!!

CANNED FOOD DRIVE/BANTAM NIGHT/MIDDLE SCHOOL NIGHT:  THIS FRIDAY…...the high school and bantam football league are joining forces to collect canned food to support the Johnson County Food Bank.  This is also Bantam Night and Middle School Night.

GAME DVD’S:  You can get the 1st three games on DVD for $15.  (317) 674-1600.  Insight is providing the Parent’s Club with 100 DVD’s of the Carmel game.  The 1st 100 families that attend next week’s Parent’s Club meeting will receive a free DVD (for a small donation) of which proceeds will go to the Parent’s Club.   Also, Channel 40 broadcasted the Carmel game and Brad believes you can get that DVD for around $25.  Brad will try and get more information on ordering.

Next meeting will be Wednesday evening, September 12, at 7:00 pm.
