November 19, 2015

Drew Ponder had four solo tackles for the Anderson football team (2-8, 2-6) in a 35-17 loss to Manchester. Teammate Luke Calvert completed 10 of 18 passes for 97 yards.

Starting linebacker Alex Aukerman had one solo tackle and assisted on two others for the Army football team (2-8) in a 34-31 loss to Tulane.

Starting defensive tackle Bryce Krebs assisted on two tackles for the Eastern Kentucky football team (6-4) in a 41-34 overtime win against Murray State.

Ben Wheeler converted his only extra point try in 2-8 Hanover’s 53-13 football loss to Franklin.

Mario Swann played for the Indiana football team (4-6, 0-6) in a 48-41 double overtime loss to Michigan.

The Indianapolis football team (10-1, 8-0) defeated St. Joseph’s 47-24 and will open play today in the NCAA D-II National Tournament against host school Colorado State-Pueblo. Dillon Dallas had four solo tackles, including a sack, and two assists for the Greyhounds; and teammate O’rion Elder had two solo tackles and one assist.

Nate Wozniak started at tight end for the Minnesota football team (4-6, 1-5) in a 40-35 loss to Iowa.

Starting defensive tackle Joel Hale assisted on one tackle for the Ohio State football team (10-0, 6-0) in a 28-3 defeat of Illinois. 

Tyler Mills had three solo tackles and one assist for the Taylor football team (7-3) in a 34-28 win against Trinity International.

November 4, 2015

Drew Ponder had two solo tackles and four assists for the Anderson football team (2-6) in a 17-13 win against Defiance.

Ben Wheeler was successful on his only extra point try for the Hanover football team (2-6) in a 35-34 win against Earlham.

Elder O’rion had one solo tackle for the Indianapolis football team (7-1) in a 63-35 defeat of William Jewell.

October 28, 2015

The Anderson football team (1-6) lost 54-22 to Mount St. Joseph. Luke Calvert completed three of nine passes for ten yards and was intercepted twice. Drew Ponder broke up a pass for the Ravens, and Andrew Wozniak broke up two passes, had two solo tackles, and assisted on three tackles.

Starting defensive end Alex Aukerman had three solo tackles, assisted on one tackle, and recovered a fumble for the Army football team (2-6) in  a 38-31 loss to Rice.

Mario Swan played for the Indiana football team (4-4, 0-4) in a 52-26 loss to Michigan State.

Dillon Dallas had one solo tackle and broke up one pass for the Indianapolis football team (7-1) in a 41-18 defeat of Lincoln.

Joel Hale had one solo tackle for the Ohio State football team (8-0) in a 49-7 defeat of Rutgers.

Tyler Mills broke up a pass and had one solo tackle and one assist for the Taylor football team (5-3) in a 35-24 win against Concordia.

October 22, 2015

The Hanover football team (1-6) defeated Anderson (1-6) 28-21. The Panthers’ Ben Wheeler converted field goals from 38 and 29 yards and was successful on each of two extra point tries. For Anderson Luke Calvert completed 14 of 20 passes for 187 yards and two touchdowns; Drew Ponder had two solo tackles and one assist; Eric Kwiatkowskicaught two passes for 36 yards; and Drew Wozniak broke up one pass and had four solo tackles and two assists.

Alex Aukerman had two solo tackles and two assists for the Army football team (2-5) in a 21-14 defeat of Bucknell.

Mario Swann had one solo tackle for the Indiana football team (4-3, 0-3) in a 55-52 loss to Rutgers.

The Indianapolis football team (6-1, 4-0) defeated Quincy 26-20. Elder O’rion had 1.5 sacks and a quarterback hurry for the Greyhounds; and Dillon Dallas had a quarterback hurry, assisted on a tackle, and broke up a pass.

Joel Hale had one solo tackle and one assist for the Ohio State football team (7-0) in a 38-10 defeat of Penn State.

Nate Wozniak started at “Y” back for the Minnesota football team (4-3, 1-2) in a 48-25 loss to Nebraska.

Tyler Mills had three solo tackles and broke up a pass in the 4-3 Taylor Football team’s 63-21 football defeat of Siena Heights.

Alex Aukerman had one solo tackle and assisted on two others for the Army football team (1-5) in a 44-3 loss to Duke.

Dmitri Wilson had three solo tackles and assisted on one for the Franklin football team (4-2, 4-0) in an 80-19 defeat of Earlham.

Ben Wheeler converted four of four extra point tries and missed a field goal attempt from 42 yards for the Hanover football team (0-6) in a 38-28 loss to Mount St. Joseph.

Mario Swann saw action for the Indiana football team (4-2) in a 29-7 loss to Penn State.

Starting cornerback Tyler Mills broke up one pass and had one solo tackle and three assists for the Taylor football team (3-3, 1-2) in a 36-23 loss to Marian.

Nate Wozniak started at tight end for the Minnesota football team (4-2-1) in a 41-13 win against Purdue.

Joel Hale assisted on one tackle for the Ohio State football team (6-0) in a 49-28 defeat of Maryland.

The Indianapolis football team (5-1) defeated McKendree 34-24. Starting defensive end Dillon Dallas assisted on two tackles and broke up a pass for the Greyhounds. Elder O’rion had one solo tackle (a sack) and assisted on one, and Jordan Bedan started on the offensive line for the winners.

Three former Center Grove football players are members of Big Ten teams with a cumulative record of 11-1, and each has played in all four of his team’s games.  Mario Swann has played in each of Indiana’s four wins and has one solo tackle. This week’s Hoosier opponent is No. 1 ranked Ohio State (4-0), and Joel Hale has played in each of the Buckeye’s wins and has assisted on four tackles. Nate Wozniak has started three games for Minnesota (3-1) and played in all four contests, catching six passes for 57 yards.

The Anderson football team (1-3) defeated Earlham 51-20.The Ravens’Luke Calvert completed 11 of 15 passes for 226 yards and three touchdowns, with one interception.  Starting  “H”  back Eric Kwiatkowskicaught one pass for 23 yards; and starting linebacker Andrew Wozniakintercepted one pass, broke up another, and had four solo tackles and two assists.

Starting defensive lineman Alex Aukerman had one solo tackle for the Army football team (1-3) in a 58-36 win against Eastern Michigan.

Dmitri Wilson had five solo tackles and three assists, including a five yard sack and 2.5 other tackles for losses, in 2-2 Franklin’s 49-31 football defeat of Bluffton. Offensive lineman Sam Hayes also saw action for the Grizzlies.

Ben Wheeler converted each of his two extra point tries in 0-4  Hanover’s 19-14 football loss to Defiance.

Starting defensive end Dillon Dallas had one solo tackle for the Indianapolis football team (3-1) in a 38-7 defeat of Hillsdale.

Tyler Mills had three solo tackles and assisted on two others for the Taylor football team (2-2) in a 40-0 defeat of Olivet Nazarene.

Austin Smogor recovered a fumble for the St. Francis football team (4-0) in a 74-13 defeat of Lyndenwood-Belleville.

Taylor’s Tyler Mills had three solo tackles, including a quarterback sack, and two assists in the 1-2 Trojans’ 41-10 football loss to Butler.

Joel Hale saw action as a substitute for the Ohio State football team (3-0) in a 20-13 win against Northern Illinois.

Starting “Y back” Nate Wozniak caught three passes for 40 yards for the Minnesota football team (2-1) in a 10-7 defeat of Kent State.

Starting defensive end Dillon Dallas had three solo tackles and one assist, including 2.5 sacks, for the Indianapolis football team (2-1) in a 26-24 win against Southwest Baptist.

Ben Wheeler converted his only extra point try for the Hanover football team (0-3) in a 35-7 loss to Rose-Hulman.

Mario Swann saw action for the Indiana football team (3-0) in a 38-35 win against Western Kentucky.

Alex Aukerman had one solo tackle for a one yard loss and one assist for the Army football team (0-3) in a 17-14 football loss to Wake Forest. Army has lost three games by a total of 10 points.

The Franklin football team (1-2) defeated Anderson (0-3) 56-0.  Dmitri Wilson had two solo tackles for the Grizzlies. Anderson’s Andrew Wozniak had three solo tackles; and Drew Ponder, who has two solo tackles and four assists for the year, broke up one pass for the Ravens. Anderson quarterback Luke Calvert completed eight of 20 passes for 55 yards.

Alex Aukerman started at linebacker for the Army football team (0-1) in a 37-35 loss to Fordham.

Nate Wozniak started at wide receiver for the Minnesota football team (0-1) in a 23-17 loss to TCU and caught one pass for five yards.

Joel Hale assisted on three tackles for the Ohio State football team (1-0) in a 42-24 win against Virginia Tech.

The Indianapolis football team (1-0) defeated Saginaw Valley State 27-17. Starting defensive end Dillon Dallas broke up one pass and had one quarterback hurry. O’rion Elder, a starting defensive lineman, had one solo tackle, one assist, and one quarterback hurry; and Jordan Bedan started  on the offensive line at right guard for the winners.

Hanover’s Ben Wheeler converted his only extra point try and had a 36 yard field goal attempt blocked in the 0-1 Panthers’ 63-7 football loss to Centre.

Franklin’s Dmitri Wilson had four solo tackles, two for losses, and two forced fumbles in the Grizzlies’ 34-24 loss to Illinois Wesleyan.

Mario Swann saw action for Indiana in a 48-47 football win against Southern Illinois.

The Taylor football team defeated Anderson 57-10. Taylor’s Tyler Mills had three solo tackles, one assist, and one pass break up. Anderson’sEric Kwiatkowski caught two passes for eight yards; and Raven’s quarterback Luke Calvert, one of three quarterbacks to play for Anderson, completed four of five passes for 27 yards and rushed four times for four yards, including a five yard sack.

Alex Woods was the starting offensive left tackle for the St. Francis football team in a 59-16 defeat of Olivet Nazarene, and freshman Austin Smogor saw action for the winners.
